Ticket Discounts

When you want to offer discounts on your tickets at certain times or to certain groups, you can create them in Components > Tickets > Discounts tab.

When supporters are purchasing tickets, they will see this field at the bottom of the page.

You can use the same code across multiple ticket levels.

Example:  Let's say you have a Single's ticket (1 admission) and a Couple's ticket (2 admissions).  You want your staff to attend for free, but they need to pay for their plus one.  You might create a discount code called "staff" that when applied to a singles ticket will create a ticket for free.  But, if they enter the same discount code "staff" when purchasing a couple's ticket, they will be charged half-price.

1.  New Discount.  Click to create a new discount.  See below (3-8) for more detailed instructions on creating the discount.

2.  Ticket Level.  Click the ticket level name to open and edit the discount code.

3.  Ticket Level.  Choose the ticket type or level from your existing ticket levels.

4.  Code.  Create a code of letters and numbers, all lowercase.  You cannot use symbols or spaces.  Keep it short and easy to remember.  Only give the code to those whom you want to have it.

5.  Admission Amount.  After applying the code, what is the price for this ticket level.

6.  Tax Deductible.  If all or a portion of the ticket purchase is tax deductible, enter the tax deductible amount in this field.  CausePilot will include the information in the payment receipt.

7.  Active/Inactive.  Check the box if this discount code is active and supporters can use it.  Uncheck it if it is not.

8.  Create or Update Discount.  If you are creating a discount for the first time, save it by clicking the button Create Discount.  If you are editing an existing discount code, click Update Discount to save your changes.
