Can't Create an Account

This is a vague complaint so let's dig a little deeper to find the real issue.

1.  Are they trying to create an account in the right place?
Make sure they are going to the right place to create the account.  Give them the URL for your flight and ask them to click the upper right account drop down menu (looks like a head).  Choose Create Account and fill out the form.

2.  Did they actually create an account and don't know it?
Look in Contacts to see if they've already created an account and maybe didn't know it.  Go to Contacts and search their name.  If they are there, double check their email is entered correctly.

3.  If they have an account but just can't login.  If they are in the system but no password, or just having trouble, send them a login link.  This will send them an email to help them get logged in.  In Contacts, find them, at the end of the row in the table there's a SEND button.  That will send a login link.  OR, you can click open their name, go to the Login Links tab and click Send Login Link there.

4.  Need to reset password?  If they are in the system and need a password, ask them to go your flight's URL, click the upper right corner account drop-down menu (looks like a head) and choose Sign In.  At the bottom of the modal that opens there's a link "Forgot Password?".  They should click that to reset their password.

MAKE SURE THEY USE THE SAME EMAIL THAT IS IN THE SYSTEM.

When all else fails.... Create the account for them.

  • Go to Contacts, Manage Contacts tab.
  • Click "New Contact" button.
  • Enter their name and email address.
Make sure to keep the checkmark "Send Invitation to participate email".  This will send them an email to help them set up their password.
  • Submit and an account will be created.  Then, all they need to do is watch their email to create their password.
TIP:  If they don't see the email they should check their SPAM or Junk folders.  It will come from noreply@causepilot.com.
